WORK PLAN
Introduction
Work plans in OpenELIS help laboratories assign tasks to lab units, individual technicians, and manage sample dispatch. Work plans list samples and tests to be performed and can be organized by Test Type, Panel Type, Unit, or Priority.
Accessing Work Plans
Hover over the hamburger menu to open the navigation panel.
Click on Work Plan to expand the options.
Select the desired work plan type:
By Test Type
By Panel Type
By Unit
By Priority
Creating a Work Plan by Test Type
Click on Work Plan By Test Type.
Select the Test Type from the drop-down menu.
The work plan will display all orders for the selected test, including:
Patient ID (Subject Number)
Received Date
Technician ID
Other lab-specific information
Red Flag next to any non-conforming event
To create work plans by Panel Type, Unit, or Priority, follow the same steps and select the appropriate category.
Managing Work Plans
Remove a Test:
Check the Remove checkbox next to a lab number to exclude it from the work plan.
This helps distribute tasks among different technicians.
Print a Work Plan:
Ensure all necessary tests are included.
Click on Print Work Plan.
A PDF version of the work plan will open in a new window.
Print the document from your browser.
