How to Access the Immunohistochemistry Module and Create a Test
Follow steps 1-9 under How to Create a Laboratory Analysis Order for an Existing Patient.
Click on the Program drop-down menu.
Select Immunohistochemistry from the menu.
OpenELIS will display a page for specimen details automatically.
Fill in fields like Nature of Specimen, Site Specimen, Procedure Performed, Provisional Clinical Diagnosis, Previous Surgery/Treatment, then click Next.
Click on the Sample drop-down menu and select Immunohistochemistry.
Fill in the Collector field and select the required Immunohistochemistry tests.
To remove a test, click the (x) icon.
If needed, check Refer test to a reference lab and fill in the required details.
Click Next.
Enter the Lab Number (scan, enter manually, or generate it), select Priority, fill in Site Name, Requester Details, Payment Status, Sampling Performed, and click Submit.
A Save Successful message appears.
Click Print Barcode to generate the barcode.
How to Access and Process an Immunohistochemistry Test
Hover over the hamburger icon and click to open the menu.
Navigate to Immunohistochemistry and click Dashboard.
The dashboard summarizes test requests and their statuses.
Use the My Cases checkbox or Status dropdown to filter cases.
Search for a test by Lab Number or Patient Name.
Click on the desired patient.
The Immunohistochemistry page displays case details.
Use the Status drop-down to select the processing stage.
Select the Technician and Pathologist.
Click Save.
Processing Test Results
View results in the Results Panel.
Accept results by checking the Accept box.
Enter Result and Notes, then click Save.
Select Ready for Pathology, choose a pathologist, and click Save.
The case status updates to Ready for Pathologist.
The Pathologist reviews and validates the results.
The Pathologist selects Ready for Release and clicks Save.
The case appears as Completed on the dashboard.
The Lab Technician can now release the results.
How to Upload or Generate an Immunohistochemistry Report
Follow steps 1-3 under How to Access and Process an Immunohistochemistry Test.
Click on the desired Completed patient case.
Scroll to the Report Section and click Add Report.
Select a report type from the drop-down menu.
Click Upload File to upload a prepared report.
Locate the file and click Open to upload.
Click (x) to remove an uploaded report.
To generate a report, toggle Show/Hide Report Parameters to On.
Enter the required parameters and click Generate Report.
A PDF report is generated successfully.
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
